On the owner's side of the table.
NEXTSTEP represents owners and investors through the decisions that shape a development and the work required to deliver it. We bring together development advisory, design management, commercial oversight and project management, with the direct involvement of our Managing Principal. Each engagement is structured around the asset, the owner's priorities and the expertise the project needs.
NEXTSTEP is a boutique consultancy. We do not maintain a large permanent workforce; instead, each project team is configured around the asset and the owner's needs, drawing on trusted consultants and specialists. Our clients have come to us through repeat appointments and recommendation.

Principal-led
Our Managing Principal is personally involved in every engagement and takes responsibility for the performance of the team.
Selective
We take on a selective number of engagements so that senior attention remains part of the service. Clients work with people who understand the detail, recognise the commercial consequences and take responsibility for moving decisions forward.
Project-specific teams
We assemble the expertise each project needs — design, cost, legal, operator or clinical specialists — and coordinate them on the owner's behalf.

Based in Dubai, with a foothold in Spain.
Based in Dubai, with a foothold in Spain and engagements across the UAE, Europe and the Indian Ocean. Our combined experience spans 7 countries, with current hospitality work in Spain, the Maldives and Mauritius.

04Managing Principal's message
A successful project starts with a clear understanding of what the owner wants to achieve. It then depends on the quality of the decisions made throughout its development — decisions about design, cost, contracts, people and delivery.
I established NEXTSTEP to provide owners with experienced, direct support at each of those points. Our approach is personal: we take time to understand the asset, assemble the right expertise and stay close to the detail. Clients should know who is responsible, understand where their project stands and receive advice that helps them act.
My experience across hospitality, residential development and industrial assets has reinforced a simple principle: technical judgement and commercial understanding must work together. At NEXTSTEP, that principle guides how we represent our clients and how we manage their projects.
05Our experience
One portfolio, clearly attributed.
Our experience brings together NEXTSTEP assignments and the international development and asset responsibilities of our Managing Principal. Projects from his executive roles are identified by the appointing company — Altajir Group, Empire Group or BAMX Group — so that clients can see exactly where each strand of experience comes from. His BAMX role, from 2022, ran alongside NEXTSTEP's own work.
